Oil based paint products seem to be in decline much to do with the environmental effects the production produces, but are the "New" water based paints as good? I find that many water based paints for interior woodwork do not give the same durability as oil based products do. However the steady increase of water based alternatives means the quality can only get better. As for exterior woodwork I use Dulux Weathershield Water based satin for most of my work this paint I have to say is fantastic, and being an Acrylic paint its flexibility is very good and can withstand our cold wet winters as well as our 3 or 4 days of summer...
